ORBIT v4.1
Financial Autonomy Calculator
Your Google-only financial workspace: saved plans and dated snapshots in Firestore, with nominal March-event forecasts and the original FALCON gates.
Private Firestore portfolio trajectory
Annual trajectory + March step events
Nominal-dollar monthly projections. A smooth contribution reference is shown beside a March-lump-sum scenario; saved actual snapshots are never overwritten.
The annual 401(k) employer nonelective is posted each March; bonus/LTI investment is posted each March separately. Totals exclude 529 and custodial accounts. Contributions stop after the selected retirement month.
Portfolio baseline
These balances anchor a saved plan revision. Do not double-count options collateral or SGOV already inside your taxable account.
Actual snapshot balances
Enter observed balances separately. Recording an actual snapshot never changes your saved projection; use Rebase when you intend to adopt the observation as a new starting point.
Year-end projection
| Year | Smooth | March steps | Step deposits (incl. pension) |
|---|
Snapshot history
Variance is compared to the immutable plan revision active when the snapshot was recorded. Rebase explicitly if you want future projections to start from an actual observation.
| Date | Actual | Expected | Difference | Actions |
|---|
Saving a revised plan does not rewrite earlier forecasts or historical snapshots.
Advanced retirement spending, consulting and legacy model settings
The four primary numbers above are derived from the retirement spending phases below. The original independent FALCON gates remain available for review but are no longer the dashboard headline. Changing retirement spending or consulting here recalculates the four primary numbers.
The original real-dollar FALCON gates below remain a separate legacy calculation. The event-based tracker above uses nominal returns, dated contributions, March investment deposits, and the legacy pension. It does not yet model retirement withdrawals or account-specific income taxes.
Ages and assumptions
Use real returns because every cash-flow input is in today's dollars.
Modeled invested assets
Use assets included in the retirement model; normally exclude home equity, 529 assets, and emergency cash unless intentionally modeled.
Current annual cash flow
Lifestyle and cash-flow amounts are annual, after-tax cash needs or spendable income.
Retirement spending phases
For each retirement year, the calculator discounts max(0, spending - reliable income) back to the retirement date.
| From age | Through age | Annual spending | Reliable income |
|---|
Rows must cover every age from the retirement age through the year before the plan-ending age, without gaps or overlaps.
Capital path to retirement
Projected invested assets use current annual core saving and the accumulation real-return assumption. Coast and policy floors rise as retirement approaches.
Guardrail and circuit breaker
The base v2.0 policy mechanically re-locks discretionary escalation whenever assets fall below the contemporaneous policy floor.
